About Gilda's Club Kansas City

The mission of Gilda's Club Kansas City, an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community, is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community. We will do this by creating a welcoming community of support for everyone living with cancer—men, women, teens and children—along with their families and friends. Our innovative program is an essential complement to medical care. Completely free of charge and nonprofit, Gilda's Club offers support groups, networking groups, lectures, workshops, education and social events in a non-residential, home-like setting.

Gilda’s Club Kansas City is the first clubhouse to provide its program in Missouri or Kansas. It is the 24th Gilda’s Club nationwide and joins the network of more than 50 affiliates and more than 100 satellite locations of the Cancer Support Community. Gilda’s Club was inspired by the late comedian Gilda Radner, of Saturday Night Live fame. Gilda regained her gift of laughter and feeling of control when she joined with others living with cancer. Gilda’s Clubs are places where people with cancer and their families and friends learn to live with cancer, and hopefully beyond it. They are their lifeline to strength, hope and guidance. The effects are often life-changing.
